I like the approach of using RTCC with a step-by-step walkthrough and accurate checklists. It would also act as a sort of “RTCC Training” mission.

I'd say this can be closed at this point
Also, the center part of the indicator should be attached to the sides of the indicator with thin supports as in these image  
From what I can see in the closeout photos it looks like it is the same
