What exactly is your question/feature request? I cannot see what you mean in the linked picture.

@ppete2 the tag place=region should not be used referring to https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:place=region so i would highly recommend not to render this tag.

Maybe the renderer should check if the relation has also the Tag boundary=administrative and then reject it

@der-stefan This seems to be an issue with SRTM data. From where are you importing those? Then i could check if it is an error based on SRTM or not.

I have checked the SRTM files (if you have downloaded them from http://viewfinderpanoramas.org/dem3.html) and the height seems to be okay. So it is either missing/wring data in the database or...
