Well, it's definitely active in the settings. But it doesn't show anything about cadence in the saved workouts. Anything I can do to help debug or find the issue?

I had a similar problem (though with any query, including where queries). In my case the problem was Spring. Try it by starting rails without spring ('DISABLE_SPRING=true rails c').

That does solve the most annoying issue that there is no title in the list. However, it does mean the full article isn't available in Omnivore but only the summary....
