It does - ages ago I opened a ticket to deep copy on paste, but you weren't in favour. It's been the default behaviour since.

The asset browser is the thing that lets you search through game files - that's probably not what you want? Regular filtering already works. If you press shift+enter to apply...
That's the editor, not the asset browser. See my last comment - there is a search field, use it :)
