Ok, I see your point. For me `qtlang` or even `qtlang-xt` (to have better recognition for current users od qTranslate-XT) is fine. `cuteelang` is cute :-) So, that's my votes.

How much memory you want to save? There was only 4 bytes difference between flash and no-flash version. If you want to get 4B back, you can just remove pre_main()...

I don't think that that's 100% reliable method, but good guess would be: 1.Check for size of bootloader (get fuses to do it) to guess if it's Optiboot at all...

Other bootloaders often have fuses set to prevent reading and writing bootloader part of flash. Optiboot allows reading bootloader memory, so it's definitely possible to read it.
