Currently the plugin forces to have a username/password setup on the server. Can it be enhanced so that it is able to connect to servers without authentication?

TVH is opening /dev/dvb/adapterN/... even if the hardware is not present. Happens if you swap tuners from one usb_port/pci_slot to another.

ringbuffer: fix rb_get_bytes_used (modulo overflow)

Using the modulo to wrap around the buffer is unsafe because it's easy to have the values overflowing. A simple "real" example from my debug: Buffer size is 15Mb (15728640)...
