I have also requested the same thing for the same reason, running builds on macOS in Docker.
I've encountered this in a current client and I would propose rather than using the API to get the configuration of the repo to use a configuration variable in Atlantis...

With the current Terraform datatypes this would be possible but requires some work on the lib as well as this provider. Will look to impliment this shortly.
