I'm only familiar with MinUI but if it works in the same way then the save folder layout is quite different and will need some work to get going. Saves...
Just be aware that I think MinUI keeps the original rom extension whereas onion doesn’t. For example: MinUI: game.zip.sav Onion: game.srm Maybe give that a try
