Hi! Sorry for commenting on a 5 month old issue but [this is a unfixable issue of ueberzug](https://github.com/seebye/ueberzug/wiki/Troubleshooting/119e30f331799b30fb9594db29740685cb09425b#images-appear-on-the-wrong-terminal-window) with certain terminals, one of them being gnome-terminal.

Script is mostly done. Just needs to be tested. Would be helpful if someone could test it on various arch-based distros and ubuntu-based distros if it works since the script...
I have also tested the script on arch and it worked flawlessly. Thank you @Loomeh for testing it out as well and making the needed changes.
