The current workaround for us is, to use two separate pipelines, where the main branch validation operates on the commit range. Gitlab CI based workaround relying on CI populated variables...
Any chance on getting that finished/merged? It would be quite useful for me, and I'd prefer to avoid keeping a fork. Can help with this PR
