We need the post render lambdas from @aryaman-gupta's variant. We need this to ensure synchronization on a per-rendered-frame basis for things like 3Dscript integration in sciview.
This would be pretty useful for overlaying flow outputs, cell tracking trajectories, and such! Might be easier to do with 3D primitives like cones, but I leave it for consideration.
