that's odd and prob means that something basic is not working. What's your RPI model? Can you put a try/catch around [this](https://github.com/Picovoice/porcupine/blob/master/demo/nodejs/mic.js#L143-L149) and log the type of exception?
what's the node version you are using? I just tried on RPI3 with node 12 and 16 and both worked
I tried that and that worked as well
can you try to use the LTS version? you can also try to reinstall the package or use a different SD card if you have any
What's the OS you are using?
I did try to reproduce on that OS as well and I didn't manage to. I am closing the issue.
