Honestly to come clean, when I first saw CollapseOS, I was honestly thinking "Why not just use CP/M or SymbOS?", but there is no issues of copyrights, licensing, etc. here....

Surprised nobody mentioned sdcc, it's regularly updated and frequently mentioned when Z80 and C comes up http://sdcc.sourceforge.net/ But, I assume we would want it actually running on the Z80 :)

I agree with @QuercusFelis, just store it in a Faraday Cage until such an event occurs. Especially since it makes little sense to use CollapseOS for non-toy/development purposes anyway so...
