Even non-curated apps support shortcuts from the context menu on the dock icon! Surely the included apps should be at least as tightly integrated with Pantheon?
Found this ticket after starting to fill out a feature request. Seems to be supported in other GNOME Shell derivatives, including the default desktops of Ubuntu and Pop!_OS.
