Unfortunately, calling the function from Java is not an option if you're using reified types, which is one of the main motivations for inlining a function.

Out of curiosity, have you considered [Snapstart](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/snapstart.html)? In my (limited) experience with the Java SDK on Lambda, it didn't make much difference. I haven't tried it with the Kotlin SDK...
