Seen something like that. It looks like the processes are sent SIGKILL first and not SIGTERM by systemd. Maybe the glusterd.service needs some updates. There is a script /usr/share/glusterfs/scripts/stop-all-gluster-processes.sh that...
Also have this issue on Scaleway. Ubuntu 18.04. Same error message as @eliezedeck
