I think this can be closed, as we have the installation routine taking care of that.
No, the installation routine does not honor env variables, but during installation all settings are checked accordingly so a smooth installation is done.
Is not the "Datenfelder" / "data fields" tab what you are looking for? There you can select existing data fields (at the bottom in grey) and edit the custom data...
Unfortunately this is not possible to delete default fields. For example "serial number" or "comment" - there might be some discussion which fields are really required and which maybe not...
Okay, now I understand. I would agree to make heavier use of custom fields. Required fields for sqStorage to function are "Description / Name", "Storage area", "Category", "Subcategory" and "amount"....
Actually there are no plans to integrate barcode scanning. I am also not sure about the exact implementation. Do you have an idea on how the feature should be done...
