Hammerspoon Mortality script has issues with computer sleeping

I'm seeing an uncaught exception `Error: EXISTENTIAL_CRISIS`. Can't pin down the precise reason, but it seems to go away if I shorten the updateText function to `menu:setTitle('∞')`.
