I didn't realize RF used the target's origin. What does it do with it?
I can confirm that this doesn't only happen when saving, as mentioned in #1131.
Another user reported this today via BM inbox, and it sounds like it's happening on save.
This still appears to reliably cause an error.
As mentioned in https://github.com/CGCookie/retopoflow/issues/914#issuecomment-745854529 , choosing corners on circular selections and adding a triangle if there is not an even number of edges could be helpful.
