Commented on the wrong issue. Had to happen eventually. We're actually looking into ensuring the sizes of these align with each other.
This is indeed a bug. [According to the standard](http://unicode.org/reports/tr51/#Emoji_Variation_Selector_Notes), we should appropriately handle fully-qualified emoji zwj sequences. Thanks for reporting.
