clicking on an image to see it "full-screen" yields a blank windows until CTRL-R is pressed

I have the same issue, using version 2.56 on windows.

No settings for selecting audio/video devices during calls

There is on mine: When in a video call, hover the window, and three dots should pop up in the upper-right corner.
