I was able to mitigate this issue by commenting out "event.preventDefault()" in the onMove method. It's not the best solution but it works.
It's working on my Nexus 6P running Android 6.0.1. I'm still on RN 0.29.2 though so perhaps a recent update to RN broke it?

Thank you @Manuel-Manoury I appreciate the insight. I'll definitely have to figure out that Edge issue so hopefully it's not too troublesome. I'll follow up if I come up with...
