i see, i just figured this was a vendor issue mainly due to the existence of twitter link fixer domains where it seemed the embed was generated by the site...
i am an extremely skittish mastodon oldie who doesn't post on public unless i absolutely must, please respect a logged-in account's default post privacy ASAP
i believe what's being requested is for source mode, not live preview.
my instance (slrpnk.net) is actually working towards migrating to piefed and they also host alexandrite. it's my preferred frontend.
