We saved quite a lot of time by assuming `mode = "diff"` in this line: https://github.com/instamatic-dev/instamatic/blob/2350cab58b5161cbe159934823526c4a9eced175/src/instamatic/controller.py#L294C13-L294C35, since we only cared about the diffraction images.
