my experience is on PhoneGap build service... i don't know for ionic cli

I don't know if your final .then() is supported from plugin... this code should be enough `cloudSky.zBar.scan(params, onSuccess, onFailure)`

I experienced the same issue. In a typical asynchronous component this is a quite mandatory flow.
