Thanks for the suggestions, they were, all on the point. I think I addressed all of it. If I run into any more floating-point tricky cases, I'll add them, but...
0.1 also works well for me, though it can be as low as 0.07, like in the paper.
Just here to say, I've used LaTeX for years primarily because I like how microtypset text looks. Excited to see it come here!
