You would add the header and cpp files for implot, then initialize it like you described. Not really sure what you are asking but it seems like a general C++...
I attempted to clone this repository without any issues. Make sure you use --recurse-submodules instead of --recursive
Development is paused the project hasn't seen much interest and I was getting bored with it.
