I already had internal_url, but set as an IP (http://x.x.x.x:8123) rather than a hostname (http://ha.home.domain.com:8123) - changing it to a hostname fixed the problem.
Agreed, it would be nice for this to be user editable. However, it is easy enough to rebuild it as an alternative to your example :) For anyone else... ```...
