I would agree that a plugin seems to make the most sense - I enjoy the modularity of sorcery even if a lot of the plugins end up getting used...
It seems like in the code you gave you're using the encrypted password, I actually haven't used sorcery in a while but I believe you do `@token = login_and_issue_token(@user.email, @user.password)`...
