would a similar thing be useful for map? like if you are passing lots of files to `sunpy.map.Map`?
also just a comment - why do we still have a user warning `"Using .data to access the dataframe is discouraged; use .to_dataframe() instead."`. Should this be ok now? like...
also I do remember we had issues with a file once that had leap seconds - does anyone remember what that was? it would be a good test case

yeah so it looks like it pulls the `id` from the meta here: https://github.com/sunpy/sunpy/blob/main/sunpy/timeseries/sources/goes.py#L133 so that it reads from the netcdf attribute `instrument` which is `GOES 1-15 X-ray Irradiance Sensor...
But yes please have a look for sure!

this has come up again on the community call - I think the consensus of @wafels @nabobalis @wtbarnes and myself are that they should probably go
