Yes, this could be a nice idea. However, I use `latexmk` for continuous compilation (in another terminal window). Hence, I will not implement this.
I think that semantic versioning is more useful. With this, we can backport (and release) bugfixes to old stable versions.

I took the liberty to create a new milestone for the next release. This way we can focus on the necessary changes to publish the release in the next time.
