Thanks for the compliment! Try adding the ConnectTimeout option (in seconds) to the ssh bit: `--rsh "ssh user@server -p1234 -o ConnectTimeout=10"` Let me know if that works.

So `ConnectTimeout=10` does not work for you because you made the ssh connection persistent? That seems like a bit of an edge case and I don't think I can come...
