I had the same problem and resolved it by disabling SELinux. On my device SELinux re-enables itself after every boot, so you may have to do this repeatedly.

How would I add support for the regular Pixel 3a (sargo)? I know that it has the same kernel as the 3a XL (bonito), so I should be able to...

I don't know how Easy-GPU-PV does it, but I managed this using the obscure PowerShell command [Disable-VMConsoleSupport](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/hyper-v/Disable-vmconsolesupport). Though as the name suggests, it stops the standard Hyper-V console from running.
