@cspacone - that begins to make sense now. If the modem config is invalid, it will drop back to "AP config" mode, which is why I don't see mine trying...

Well, looking at the schematic [here](https://github.com/Xinyuan-LilyGO/LilyGo-LoRa-Series/blob/master/schematic/LilyGo_TBeam_V1.1.pdf), it would seem that the custom template above has all of the LoRa pin designations correct, so back to looking at the modem config.

After a lot of head scratching, I couldn't find any problem with the config. above. I rebooted my WiFi AP, and the board was able to connect. It appears that...
