So sounds like there isn't a 'good way' apart from The Right Way. And The Right Way is extremely limiting if I have to be in range of a colony+guards....
Looks like scans/decos work fine. So that's definitely a start, thanks for the clarification @Raycoms. But there is no way to paste a hut-based building outside a colony?
