It works until you set the mandatory flag, then as return methods don't carry the counter it is not possible to work out which of the multiple "in flight" publish...

Tried porting something similar to C and using raw liblo. Very similar issues are seen with 0.28, however with HEAD it behaves much better.

This is in the same vane issue #16 but on the server side. It's pretty nasty, if you can think of a better way I'd be very open to suggestions.
