I was able to fix it by installing the 1.31 version
I replaced the binary with the one from here, restarted, updated caplets, and ran. https://github.com/bettercap/bettercap/releases/tag/v2.31.1
Oh my mistake, it was 2.31
I literally dragged the new one into the same folder as the old one and chose replace when it told me it already existed.
I'm also having this same issue. Only the triggers don't work. Every other app detects it
