I am running on ubuntu 18.04 and can confirm that those raw key codes match also mine (on native laptop keyboard and on external Razr keyboard)
I am loading the tree in sync mode, but the topic is AFTER the tree has loaded and is displayed, you can use the CTRL key to select multiple nodes....
I see what you mean, well basically I would expect the tree either 1) to remember the two "end points" of the SHIFT selection and add every new node received...
