Found this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/26133817/image-with-src-from-url-appearing-upside-down-or-sideways-sometimes So it seems that by extracting the orientation from the EXIF data the preview could be rotated accordingly. Perhaps that could be integrated into a future version.
