I welcome any PRs, but I don't have the bandwidth right now to make any major changes.
+1 on this bug. I also cannot seem to close the settings menu without closing the app all together.
I added a check to see if the buffer already exists and to just reuse it. Hopefully this will solve the issue. Please go ahead and use the dev branch...
