It's a decades old trick to symlinks to a single source directory for multiple architecture builds. This issue has broken that for me. 👎

What I do is keep my password in 1Password and use their Homebrew-based CLI to retrieve it and knock via a [script](https://github.com/e40/bink/blob/master/knock).
