I had the same bug and in my case, the root cause of the issue was that the owner of the `~/.local/share/applications` directory and everything inside was set to `root`...

To me, supporting custom fonts sounds like a better solution than supporting ligatures specifically.

I think it makes more sense to remove the python icon and colon and just use `my[py]`
