@sur5r, Yes. Or let us know about non-debian distributions or bsd distributions. This is irritating enough I would consider changing from my long-standing use of ubuntu to solve it.

I second this bug report. It also happens with quotes when a region is active. Using ubuntu 20.04 linux.
