I have tested the ["official" example repo](https://github.com/andresR8/mbed-os-renode-example) and the behaviour is the same, it does not work with these APIs. There is also a [comment](https://github.com/andresR8/mbed-os-renode-example/blob/master/main.cpp#L40) from the author indicating it.
