Hi @ColinFay, wow! I was not aware that `sf::read_sf()` could consume GPX files. I think that this is awesome and would make `process_data()` a lot cleaner and easier to maintain....
Unless we are planning on supporting other formats (beyond GPX), I'd suggest going with a simple `gpx`.
