Sorry about that, been a busy week. :) I have an example that more or less illustrates what the code is doing but unfortunately I wasn't able to really reproduce...
I should note that all content (including js and swf) are served over SSL as well, there isn't a mix of secure and insecure content.
The cert should be fine, it's not self-signed or invalid in any way. Trying to load ZeroClipboard from GitHub over SSL doesn't work in that JSFiddle.
