Parser removes syntactically significant semicolons a=b ;(foo)(bar) is changed to a=b (foo)(bar) which is not the same MAJOR BUG

But luaparse takes the following expression, (a & b) >> c removes the parens, and changes it to a&b>>c WHICH IS NOT EQUIVALENT
