I’m not sure I understand the question. The “next release” should in my opinion increment from the current release according to semantic versioning.
I suppose a test in the build suite to guard against this situation in the future might be a reasonable step. Otherwise I don’t think there are many direct steps...
Seeing this too. Even sent myself a test notification to see if it reset the count and now I’m stuck with another +1.
