That sounds like a good idea. I do wonder what the new tools give us over the ones already in there.
@timelyportfolio knows better than me on this, but my initial thought is that you should be able to achieve this by combining **networkD3** in a [shiny](http://shiny.rstudio.com/) web app.

My preference is for the last option. It would give `forceNetwork` a more effortless feel for users.
This is not currently implemented. If you can find a code example then that would ease implementing it.
