I'm bumping on this problem once again. Gawk didn't fix it this time.
Since this is a Tmux plugin, not an OS package, I think it makes more sense to install it using the package manager for tmux plugins, which his [TPM](https://github.com/tmux-plugins/tpm)
Did you manage to solve this? I have installed both `YouCompleteMe` and `tern_for_vim`, but not sure if I'm missing something. I'm getting a `Value Error: Not connected to server`
